Making PC USB LCD controller project

This really a work that so cool if you like modif PC. So this is a USB interface for alphanumeric LCD display like 4 × 20 which can be controlled with LCD Smartie program. USB interface is implemented by using PIC18F2550 microcontroller, Using USB LCD modules. Below is a project of the USB LCD controller. Schematic circuit and PCB design source  | link

PC Driven LED Display Circuit Diagram

Here is a circuit to generate sequentially running light effects using a simple program written in C. The output of the program is taken from the LPT port of a PC and then fed to the interfacing circuit for the LED display. The outputs of the interfacing circuit are decoded, inverted, and then connected to LED s through optocouplers.   Fig. 1: Interfacing circuit for PC-driven LED display The interfacing circuit along with the 25-pin parallel port is shown in Fig. 1. IC1 (74LS138) is a high-speed 1-of-8 decoder/demultiplexer. In the circuit, only five outputs (pins 10 through 14) of IC1 are used. These outputs are inverted using  NOT gate IC2 (7404). Optocouplers IC3 through IC7 (MCT2E) are used to prevent the circuit from damage in the event of short circuit in the load.  Thus the loads comprising LED blocks LB1 through LB5 are isolated from the interfacing circuit including the PC. Each LED block contains a number of LED s connected in series. The LED s can be arrang...

Communication between Delta HMI and PC

Before performing any communication, it is better to understand the hardware interface of Delta Hmi TP04 series and how to set the communication settings in TPEditor software program. Please refer to the following sections for the method of communication. An external 24V DC power is required when activating TP04 series. After the power is in connected to TP04 series, the start-up display will show up first and then the system main menu of TP04 series will appear. Choose “4.TP SETUP” > “1.Communication Protocol”. There are three items regarding the communication settings: TP Settings: It is used to set the communication address of TP series. RS232: It is used to set the transmission speed (baud rate), data length, parity check, and stop bit of     RS-232 communication. RS485: It is used to set the transmission speed (baud rate), data length, parity check, and stop bit of RS-485 communication. The above three items should be set in accordance with the settings set in T...

Serial Port PC Battery Charger Circuit Diagram

This is the Serial Port PC Battery Charger Circuit Diagram. This is one of the porters of the series "battery chargers that will never do." It uses the serial port of a PC to power a battery charger. A serial interface port can not supply enough current to charge batteries more powerful, but low capacity battery Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), this circuit is more than enough. You could, for example, use the batteries in a radio and charge them while using the PC.  The three serial port connections TxD, DTR and RTS, when not in use, are -10 V and can provide a current of about 10 to 20 mA. The circuit shown supplies a charging current of about 30 mA. If you need to change the polarity of the charging circuit, then it is a simple job, just reverse the diodes and use of software, change door signs to 10 V. Those interested can also write a software routine that automatically recharges the batteries. Serial Port PC Battery Charger Circuit Diagram

Protect PC boards from vibration

These two mounting methods were devised to protect PC boards from vibration when installed in the engine compartment of a car. They could also be used in other applications where vibration is a problem. Method 1 involves rigidly mounting the PC board inside a diecast box and then mounting the box itself to provide vibration isolation. As shown, small grommets are installed in suitably sized holes in the sides of the box. The box is then secured to angle mounting brackets using M4 screws, washers and nylock nuts. Method 2 involves mounting the diecast case onto the chassis of the car and then mounting the PC board as shown, using M3 screws, grommets, hollow spacers and nylock nuts. In this case, the grommets are fitted into suitably sized holes in the PC board itself. Once the nuts are tightened, the PC board should be able to move slightly, relative to the box. If there is not enough space on the board to fit the grommets, then Method 1 is the way to do it. Author: David Boyes - ...
