1 5V Battery to 5V Voltage Converter Circuit Diagram

This is a Simple 1.5V Battery to 5V Voltage Converter Circuit Diagram. Stable and secure 5V DC (at 200mA max) from an ordinary 1.5V AA sized cell. At the heart of this circuit is IC1 MAX756 from Maxim, which is a CMOS step-up DC-DC switching regulator for small, low input voltage or battery-powered systems.   Simple 1.5V Battery to 5V Voltage Converter Circuit Diagram MAX756 accepts a positive input voltage down to 0.7V and converts it to a higher pin selectable output voltage of 5V (or 3.3V). Typical full-load efficiency for the this IC is greater than 87%. Max756 combine a switch-mode regulator with an N-channel MOSFET, precision voltage reference, and power-fail detector in a single monolithic device. The MOSFET is a “sense-FET” type for best efficiency, and has a very low gate threshold voltage to ensure start-up under low-battery voltage conditions (1.1V typ). The circuit can be easily wired on a very small rectangular common PCB.All connections should be kept as short as poss...

Short Wave Converter

This short-wave converter, which doesn’t have a single coil requiring alignment, is intended to enable simple medium-wave receivers to be used to listen to short-wave signals. The converter transforms the 49-m short-wave band to the medium-wave frequency of 1.6 MHz. At the upper end of the medium-wave band, select an unoccupied frequency that you want to use for listening to the converted short-wave signals. Good reception performance can be obtained using a wire antenna with a length of one to two metres. Short-Wave Converter  Circuit Diagram The converter contains a free-running oscillator with a frequency of around 4.4 MHz, which is tuned using two LEDs (which act as variable-capacitance diodes!) and a normal potentiometer. The frequency range is set by adjusting the emitter current using a 1k trimpot. The oscillator frequency depends strongly on the operating point. This is due to the combination of using an audio transistor and the extremely low supply voltage. Under these con...

VGA to BNC Adapter Converter

There are monitors which only have three BNC inputs and which use composite synchronization (‘sync on green’). This circuit has been designed with these types of monitor in mind. As can be seen, the circuit has been kept very simple, but it still gives a reasonable performance. The principle of operation is very straightforward. The RGB signals from the VGA connector are fed to three BNC connectors via AC-coupling capacitors. These have been added to stop any direct current from entering the VGA card. A pull-up resistor on the green output provides a DC offset, while a transistor (a BS170 MOSFET) can switch this output to ground. It is possible to get synchronisation problems when the display is extremely bright, with a maximum green component. In this case the value of R2 should be reduced a little, but this has the side effect that the brightness noticeably decreases and the load on the graphics card increases. To keep the colour balance the same, the resistors for the other two colo...

POWER CONVERTER TOPOLOGY ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

POWER CONVERTER TOPOLOGY and MOSFET SELECTION FOR 48-V TELECOM APLICATIONS ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DIAGRAM Output voltages are frequently 5V and below with 3.3V probably the most common requirement, and 2.5V gaining in popularity. If a processor is on the card, voltages as low as 1.3V are not unlikely. One common approach is to regulate a distributed power bus, say the 5V rail, and then use non-isolated DC/DC converters to generate lower voltages. With the tendency away from 5V, the 3.3V rail is beginning to serve as the distributed bus, although, from the power supply designer’s perspective, this is not the most of desirable situations. Fairchild has recently introduced a family of high voltage MOSFETs ranging from 80- to 200-V drain voltage specifications. This application note will provide information helpful in the proper selection of FETs for primary side switches – available in various types of 48V power converters.

Simple Sound to Light Converter Schematic Diagram

Simple Sound-to-Light Converter Schematic Diagram Figure 1 shows a simple ambit for converting an audio arresting (such as one that comes from the apostle terminals of a CD player). The ambit basically consists of a buffer/amplifier date and three clarify circuits: a high-pass filter, a mid-pass filter, and a low-pass filter. The achievement of anniversary clarify ambit drives a light-emitting diode of altered color. The ascribe arresting is fed to the absorber date through C1. Buck Converter 1 Watt White LED Driver

This is an example of efficiently driving a 1 watt white LED from a 12 volt battery using a buck converter. The LED could simply be connected with a series resistor to get the desired current, but the efficiency would be only 25% since the resistor would drop 9 volts while the LED only requires 3. The buck converter provides about 90% efficiency. The idea is to establish a circulating current through the inductor, diode and load, while the switch replenishes the lost load energy on each cycle. The duty cycle of the switch will be the output voltage divided by the input voltage, or about 3/12 (25%) in this case. It's actually a little greater since there is a small (2.2 ohm) resistor in series with the LED that drops about 0.5 volt, so the total load is about 3.7 volts and the duty cycle is around 31%. The circuit could also be used to charge AA batteries from a 12 volt source with adjustment to the duty cycle. The driver section uses a CMOS hex inverter (CD4069) where two of the in...

High Current Step Up Converter Using MAX641

High Current Step-Up Converter Using MAX641 integrated circuit, manufactured by Maxim IC, can be designed a very simple step-up converter using few electronic components. This step-up high voltage converter electronic projects allows a maximum output current up to 1A. High Current Step-Up Converter Circuit Diagram Low battery voltage detector input compare LB1 with internal reference of 1.31 V. LBO output goes in low state when the voltage at pin 1 falls below 1.31 V. The threshold voltage for "low battery", is determined by voltage divider R1-R2. LED D1 illuminates the LBO output when the input voltage falls below 2.62 V. Input voltage must remain below 5 V. The maximum effectiveness is 80% conversion.

Ferrite Transformer Turns Calculation for Offline SMPS Half Bridge Converter

On different forums, I often find people asking for help in calculating the required turns for a ferrite transformer they are going to use in offline SMPS half-bridge converter s . The half-bridge topology is very popular for offline converters in the power range 100W to 500W, sometimes goin g up to even 1000W. In an offline SMPS half-bridge converter, the line voltage is rectified and filtered and is then converted to high frequency with 2 MOSFETs – one in high-side configuration and the other in low-side configuration. This high frequency high voltage AC is fed to the ferrite transformer to step down the voltage to low voltage high frequency AC which is then rectified to DC and filtered to provide clean DC output. A vital thing to remember is that in a half-bridge converter, the 2 MOSFETs work along with 2 capacitors to create the high voltage high frequency AC. The configuration of the capacitors, MOSFETs and transformer causes the transformer to be supplied half the voltage of the...

Inductorless 3 to 5 Volts Converter

By configuring a comparator and a transistor to control the oscillator in a charge pump circuit, you enable the pump to generate a regulated output of in principle any desired value. Charge pump ICs can either invert or double an input voltage (for example, 3 V to –3 V or 3 V to 6 V). The charge pump itself does not regulate the output voltage and one running off 3 V is not normally capable of generating intermediate output voltage levels like 5 V. However, by adding a comparator and a reference device, you can create arbitrary output levels like 5 V and regulate them as well. Circuit diagram  : Inductorless 3-to-5 Volts Converter Circuit Diagram Charge pump IC1 (a MAX660) has an internal oscillator whose 45 kHz operation transfers charge from C1 to C2, causing the regulated output to rise. When the feedback voltage (pin 3 of IC2) exceeds 1.18 V, the output of comparator IC2 (a MAX921) goes high, turning off the oscillator via T1. The comparator hysteresis (easily added on IC2) i...

12 16V Converter

This Converter  Electronic Circuit Project a very simple build 12-16V-Converter. Many devices operate from a car`s 12-V electrical system. Some require 12 V; others require some lesser voltage. An automobile battery`s output can vary from 12 to 13.8 V under normal circumstances. The load requirements of the device might vary. 12-16V-Converter Circuit Diagram: This circuit maintains a constant voltage regardless of how those factors change. Simple circuit, A, uses a 7805 voltage regulator. In addition to a constant output, this JC provides overload and short-circuit protection. That unit is a 5-V, 1-A regulator, but when placed in circuit B, it can provide other voltages as well. When the arm of potentiometer R1 is moved toward ground, the output varies from 5 to about 10 V.

Radio Beacon Converter

The radio beacon band extends from 280 to 516 kHz. Each beacon has its own characteristic AM`-modulated morse-coded callsign that is transmitted on a specific frequency. To be able to receive distant beacons, the aerial signal is passed through a band-pass filter that effectively suppresses longwave and mediumwave signals.  Radio Beacon Converter Circuit Diagram: The filter also converts the aerial impedance, Zm, from about 10 KOhmhm to the input impedance of mixer IC1, which is about 1 KOhmhm. The mixer adds or subtracts the received signal to/from the local oscillator signal so that the beacon signal can be received on a normal shortwave receiver. The resulting frequencies are from 9.72 to 9.48 MHz or from 10.280 to 10.516 MHz. In the construction of the converter, some components must be surrounded by a metal shield, as indicated by dashed lines on the PC board layout. The circuit is aligned with the aid of an SSB receiver, to which the output of the converter is connected. Tune...
