Binary Coded Decimal BCD Clock

The clock circuit above uses seven ICs and 19 LEDs to indicate binary coded decimal time. The LEDs can be arranged (as shown in example above) so that each horizontal group of 3 or 4 LEDs represents a decimal digit between 0 and 9 and each individual LED represents a single bit or (binary digit) of the value. Binary digits have only two values (0 and 1) so a number written in binary would be something like 1001 or 0011, which represents decimal numbers 9 and 3 respectively. From right to left, each binary (1) represents increasing powers of 2, so that a 1 in the right hand place represents 2^0=1 and the next place to the left is 2^1=2 and then 2^2=4, and so forth. This makes binary counting fairly easy since each digit has a value of twice the one before or 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,etc. Thus the decimal value can be found by simply adding the values of each illuminated LED in the same row, (the total is shown in the box to the right). For example, the binary number 1001 would have a decimal va...

Digital Watch Clock Circuit using LCD 16x2 and PIC 16F877a

Today I'll introduce you how to make a simple digital watch with LCD 16x2 and PIC 16F877a. It's very easy to implement this clock and you can make this as a gift clocks for kids. I'll also provide you the source code of the clock so you can easily customize to make your own countdown clock, count up timer or something that more useful than an analog clock. OK. Below is the circuit diagram of the digital watch. 24 Second Shot Clock Circuit

Description: This is a circuit intended to be used in basketball shot clock. Circuit diagram Notes: To start in 24 seconds; 24s LOAD SW and Reset SW should be push simultaneously. If not, the count will start in 99. Pulse input can be connected to 555 astable multivibrator but must be calibrated for real time clock. The PAUSE SW must have a Switch Debouncer so that the counter will count normal when counting is paused and then turn-on. When the count reach 00, the NOR gate will have an output of logic1 that will turn on the two transistor. The buzzer will rung and light will turn on. The two transistors are continuously turn-on not until LOAD SW and Reset SW is push. All have a +5v power supply. author:Milardo de Guzman, milardo_dg@yahoo.com Source: http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk

LED Clock Using PIC 11

Now you'll be able to perpetually grasp the precise time. With this style you'll be able to have an atomic clock in your area. Isn’t that great? scan on to grasp additional. First of all, it's not regarding any radioactive components here. this can be regarding building a clock show that may get the time from the DCFF77 facilities in Frankfurt, Germany. All that's required may be a clock LED show, DCFF77 receiver, and a microcontroller at the side of the mandatory connections. Basically, the project permits a sign that's sent by the DCFF77 radio station to be decoded. After that. the microcontroller method it and sends it to the LED show to indicate the precise time. there's no got to build a sign receiver, an honest quality receiver may be bought on the net for a coffee worth. Once everything has been set within the affiliation board the PIC supply code ought to be developed. The orientation of the antenna ought to be perpendicular to Frankfurt. it'll receiv...

DS3231M Real Time Clock Breakout

The DS3231M breakout board is a compact breakout board for the new DS3231M high precision real time clock chip. With it, you can add timekeeping and alarm functionality to any Arduino (or other microcontroller that supports the I2C/TWI protocol). The board comes with an onboard CR1220 backup battery (keeps time when main power is disconnected). All pins on the chip are broken out, allowing you to use extra features such as 1Hz and 32kHz square wave output, interrupt on alarm and reset. [ ]
