Making PC USB LCD controller project

This really a work that so cool if you like modif PC. So this is a USB interface for alphanumeric LCD display like 4 × 20 which can be controlled with LCD Smartie program. USB interface is implemented by using PIC18F2550 microcontroller, Using USB LCD modules. Below is a project of the USB LCD controller. Schematic circuit and PCB design source  | link

Simple MiniCom An Arduino LCD DSLR Remote Control

It’s my first post in English on this blog, just to get to the broader English crowd of the maker world. I’ll present my latest project, the fifth iteration in my quest to create a remote control for my DSLR. There’s a night-mode, where all the LCD turns red, useful for astro-photography, when you need to be able to look at it without compromising your acquired night vision. The interface is limited to a single rotary knob you can push to validate your choices. It remains easy and intuitive to use even when it’s minus 20°C and it’s pitch black. The output is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack, you can use different cables to control different brand of DSLRs. [ ]

Digital Watch Clock Circuit using LCD 16x2 and PIC 16F877a

Today I'll introduce you how to make a simple digital watch with LCD 16x2 and PIC 16F877a. It's very easy to implement this clock and you can make this as a gift clocks for kids. I'll also provide you the source code of the clock so you can easily customize to make your own countdown clock, count up timer or something that more useful than an analog clock. OK. Below is the circuit diagram of the digital watch. Sharp introduced IGZO LCD display with a pixel density record

Japanese Sharp introduced 4.1-inch IGZO LCD display with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, ultrathin side frames and record the density of pixels per inch - 736ppi. Accommodate a number of pixels in the panel manufacturer managed due to their small size - 11.5 mm x3. Recall the absolute record for the pixel density among all Android-devices today is the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A 5.1-inch QHD-display - 576 ppi. Mass production of the new panels Sharp will begin only in 2016, respectively, and the first mobile news, equipped with them will be available no earlier than a year and a half. There is no doubt that over such a long period of time not less than its impressive design will show as Samsung and LG Display. First, for example, according to the latest leaks, in August 2015 will begin production of 5.9-inch Super AMOLED-display with ultra-high-resolution Ultra HD (3840h2160 points) and the density of pixels in 746 dpi.

Construction and Working Of LCD

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) LCD are passive display devices characteristics by very low power consumption and good contrast ratio. The liquid crystal display does not emit light or generate light. It requires an external or internal light source. Although LED give off light but LCD are not light sources but controls light. LCD a reflect part of surround by light. Principle The molecules in ordinary liquids normally have random orientations. In liquid crystals, the molecules are oriented in liquid crystals, the molecules are oriented in a definite crystal pattern when an electric field is applied to these crystals the molecules which are approximately cigar shaped, tend to aligns themselves perpendicular to the field. Charge carriers flowing through the liquid disturb the molecular alignment and cause a turbulence within the liquid, this is illustrated in below fig .                                   ...

Sharp LC 15SH1U Sharp LC 15AV1U – SMPS – Back light inverter and LCD main circuit diagram

Fixed voltage ( or Auto voltage selectable ) power supply circuit is used in this unit.  If Main Fuse (F601) is blown, check to see that all components in the power supply circuit are not defective before you connect the AC plug to the AC power supply.  Otherwise it may cause some components in the power supply circuit to fail. BECAUSE A HOT CHASSIS GROUND IS PRESENT IN THE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT, AN ISOLATION TRANSFORMER MUST BE USED.  ALSO, IN ORDER TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO INCREASE THE INPUT SLOWLY, WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING THIS TYPE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT, A VARIABLE ISOLATION TRANSFORMER IS REQUIRED. Simple LCD Module in 4 bit Mode

In many projects use is made of alphanumeric LCDs that are driven internally by Hitachi’s industry-standard HD44780 controller. These displays can be driven either in 4-bit or 8-bit mode. In the first case only the high nibble (D4 to D7) of the display’s data bus is used. The four unused connections still deserve some closer attention. The data lines can be used as either inputs or outputs for the display. It is well known that an unloaded output is fine, but that a floating high-impedance input can cause problems. So what should you do with the four unused data lines when the display is used in 4-bit mode? This question arose when a circuit was submitted to us where D0-D3 where tied directly to GND (the same applies if it was to +5 V) to stop the problem of floating inputs. The LCD module was driven directly by a microcontroller, which was on a development board for testing various programs and I/O functions. There was a switch present for turning off the enable of the display when it wa...

Mounting LCD Backlighting LED Pixel Dot Lights

Before mounting the LEDs behind the monitor, run the software with the LEDs loose on your desk to confirm that everything works. This will save time and heartache in the rare event that a strand has a defect and needs replacing. Our goal is to install the LEDs behind the screen, projecting light back and outward around the perimeter, illuminating the wall behind. Every TV and monitor is different, and exactly how and where to best mount the LEDs is more craft than engineering. This is where the “maker ingenuity” comes into play! While some of our customers have fabricated amazing metal frames and laser-cut acrylic mounting plates, the tools and materials really don’t need to be that advanced. To prove this, our sample setup uses nothing more than cardboard and tape! You can keep it simple or take it as far as your personal skill set allows. It’s not rocket science! Here we’ve fashioned an LED holder using illustration board from the nearby art supply store. Our template is sized to mat...
